These are common questions that are asked about lymphedema and its treatment. You can ask questions on the contact us page and we will post the answers as soon as possible. Hopefully this helps answer and generate questions.
Let us know if it helps you!!
ADP stands for the Assistive Devices Program. It is part of The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in Canada. Among other products, it subsidizes 75% of the cost for certain lymphedema compression products including garments, compression pumps and the Reid Sleeve.
Any permanent resident of Ontario with a valid health card is eligible for ADP funding. There is a three step process to the garment application.
1) A signature is required by a physician specialist (surgeon, oncologist, vascular surgeon etc.) who must provide a diagnosis of lymphedema.
2) An authorizer's signature is required. This person must be registered with the ADP program as an authorizer and can be a RN, RMT, physiotherapist or an occupational therapist.
3) The registered fitter's signature is required.
The ADP program will cover up to 6 garments each year. That is one pair (one to wash, one to wear) every 4 months.
